Something Musical
Just dropped a long-overdue jukebox update into the blog to celebrate the fact that new music is starting to flood back into the market after the holiday doldrums. I’ve included more tracks than normal just because. One of them isn’t actually new though… which one is an exercise for the listener.
First, something unreleased from the upcoming Ra album. Then something soft from the InMe album I’ve already posted about. How about something completely different from the North Mississippi Allstars? Oooh, something smooth and smoky from the interestingly named Cat Power. Hmmm, then something perky from the boys in The Audition. And then let’s wrap up with something instrumental from Scottish band Mogwai.
Bonus points if you know where that last band got their name without looking!

I swear I didn’t look (hence my probably wrong answer) but isn’t that the name of a creature or type of animal out of a movie? Was it “Star Wars”? “Lord of the Rings”? It was a science fiction movie, right???
