Thirteen things I want to do before I depart this mortal coil.
- Tour Scotland and Ireland on motorcycle
- Tour parts of Australia on motorcycle
- Visit the Grand Canyon (I’ve flown over it, but never been there!)
- Visit Alaska (yes, on a motorcycle)
- Fly in a glider
- Own a convertible sports car (A Mazda Miata would be nice!)
- Produce a short film (HD video cameras are getting cheaper!)
- See a show on Broadway
- Own a 500mm camera lens
- See the Paris Air Show (with the 500mm lens)
- Have hot chocolate and beignets at Cafe Du Monde again
- Fall in love again
- See these guys in concert!

Is that Offspring? Not sure…
How much does a 500 mm lens cost, do I even want to know?
Ha, number 5 is only moderately more scary than number 12.

Yep, Offspring… it’s an acquired taste I confess.
Ooh, I had the lens wrong anyway! It’s not the 500mm that I wanted, it’s the Olympus Zuiko 300mm f/2.8 super telephoto… that one sells for $5894 at Amazon. And no, I didn’t leave out any decimals on that!

I should mention that not only is #12 scary (#5 is just exciting to contemplate!) but probably the least likely for a variety of reasons!

Good list, Mike! $5894?!?! Are you freakin NUTS?!??!! You’d need to take an insurance policy out on your camera!!!
I might try doing a list like this…

That’s a terrific list…especially numbers one, two and four. That’s my one big regret so far in life…I haven’t traveled enough. And to do it on a bike would be awesome!

first of all, HUMBUG on #12 not being likely! Never say never my friend, it always comes back to bite you in the end. Kinda like falling in love I suppose ;P It’ll happen when it’s supposed to.
Ditto on ALL the travel goals, though I want to be driven rather than do it on motorcycle. (keeps my hands free for the camera)
You know…I made a “bucket list” about 13 or so years ago and tucked it away in a journal. I’ve been half heartedly looking for it, because I want to make a new one now and compare the two..I think it might be iteresting to see if my goals have changed at all.
Yours is a GREAT list. I’m currently pining for a 400mm lense..right between the 3 and 5 hundred..have you checked B & H photo dot com? Their prices are VERY good and their customer service is outstanding! Check them out..oh and you might be interested to know they sell video equipment too…

This is a most excellent list! I think one of my favorites is the Paris Air Show — with the 500mm lens.

Ok, do #12 but make sure you take out a hefty insurance policy on HER. If you live happily ever after, you’ll forget about the $6K zoom lens…but if “something happens to her” you score the zoom lens. Win-win.

Get your butt off that sofa and on your bike - and get yourself over here to Scotland for #1. The sun is shining so what are you waiting for?????

Fun list.
Let me know when I can hook you up with #8.
Your player kept buffering and wouldn’t play for me. I’ll try again.

The “buffering” problem may be a flash issue. I had it happen and had to uninstall the latest flash and reinstall an older version. In my case it was affecting embedded YouTube videos also.

You definitely should go to a Broadway play. Find the one play that you most want to see and— Just do it. For me, “Phantom of the Opera” was a massively life-altering experience.
All great bucket items! I’d be thrilled to see you do these things…
