Long, Strange Week

This was a long, strange week. It all worked out in the end though. The first part of the week I was stressed because I had my annual physical on Wednesday. I probably shouldn’t have been stressed but visiting the doctor is not my favorite thing. Overall it went well. He’s adjusting my meds a bit but on the whole everything is going fine.
I also got a Tetanus shot. Which apparently I had some kind of reaction to because I spent all day Thursday feeling feverish with the cold chills. Fortunately that passed because the plan for Friday was to play hooky and go riding with my friend Jim. Except I woke up to dark, gray skies and as I rode up to meet Jim about an hour north of home, I ran through one mother of a rain squall. I figured we’d wind up having breakfast and calling it a day.
Thankfully, Jim was prepared. Realizing that morning that the weather along our planned route was anything but optimal, he checked the forecasts for cities all over Western Washington and remapped a new route through areas with low chances of rain. Lo and behold, his wizardry worked. We encountered no rain and even a few brief sun breaks.
The rest of the three day weekend I’ll spend prepping the bike for next week’s California trip. I need to change the oil, clean it up a bit, check all the bolts and test fit the new luggage. Can’t wait to hit the road next Thursday!

I remember rain squawls. lol
Sorry to hear about your Thursday. That souunds very unpleasant.
Beautiful photo.
I trust you’re not headed this far south? (SoCal)
Weather should be better this week.

No, just going as far as the north coast… Fortuna, CA
I love that bridge in the photo. Gorgeous!
Ugh, a Tetanus shot… I think I last had one during the Carter administration. That’s recent enough, right?
I react the same way to tetanus shots. I am not a good “shot taker”. LOL

What a great shot!
Oh, ha! I mean the photo, not the tetanus shot you had!
Glad the new route was a pleasant one, and it was worth playing hooky for. Hopefully the same great thing is in store for your trip Thursday.
I used to react like that to the typhoid jab - luckily they’ve changed the formula now …
All the best on the bike trip - sounds fab!
Our weather is just so insanely weird right now. One minute dark skies…the next bright sun, then hail on top of your head. We had a crazy strange thunderstorm last night…really freaky lightening…
Your upcoming trip sounds really fun! Ride hard..enjoy the open skies…
Cool photo Mike! Where is that bridge? Looks familiar.
