Thursday Thirteen: Things I’ll See On My Trip

I’m leaving today for a 5-6 day trip down to Fortuna, CA on my motorcycle. It’s an annual pilgrimage of west coast members from the Sport-Touring.net website. In honor of the trip, here’s 13 things I’ll see while I’m on the road.
- The Oregon border as I cross the Columbia River at Longview
- An SUV driver with a cell phone glued to their ear cutting me off
- Rain, it’s inevitable…
- The Pacific Ocean as I carve down Highway 101 on the coast
- RVs… you can’t ride anywhere without getting stuck behind a slow moving RV
- Dinosaurs, I saw ‘em on my last trip through here
- Bugs, on the windscreen, on the face shield, bugs everywhere. I carry a damp cloth just to wipe things off when I stop for a break
- The California border
- The Trees of Mystery!
- The Eel River Brewery (twice… Friday and Saturday nights!)
- Many, many road gators
- Oh maybe, just maybe one or two other motorcycles
- The Washington border as I head back north early next week
I’m taking the Macbook with me and my hotel in Fortuna is supposed to have WiFi so I hope to upload a few photos and maybe post while I’m away. I’ll be updating my motorcycling blog also.
Have a great weekend, I plan to!

#2….wasn’t me! I swear!
And I never knew that’s what “road gators” were before. Well, honestly…where I live, sometimes by the road we have the real ones!
I’ve never heard the term “road gators”! I’ve now started my day by learning something!
Enjoy your trip, and travel safely to and fro!
Sounds fun. But I hate rain and bugs so I think I’ll watch from afar!!

I never knew those were called “road gators” either but I’m sure you will see many. And a single shoe here and there…I’ve never understood that.
Safe travels!!
