Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to follow the talent into the dark place where it leads - Erica Jong

Manic Monday

Lisa asks

What sound or noise do you love?
I love being up early, before the neighborhood starts to wake up. When it’s warm like it has been this week in Seattle, I love to sit here in the morning with the windows open and listen to the sounds of summer outside. Birds, insects buzzing around, very peaceful.

What sound or noise do you hate?
Hmm, I can’t think of any particular noise that raises the hair on the back of my neck. I guess I don’t like traffic noise, construction, car alarms, things like that. Anything that interrupts my peace!

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
I really would like to write more. Either by expanding my current writing gigs doing movie reviews (I wouldn’t mind expanding into doing official music reviews for example) or starting to write fiction more seriously.

What profession would you not like to do?
That’s a good question. I’ve done some pretty nasty jobs growing up (garbage collection in the deep South, cleaning out a septic tank) so I’m pretty thankful to be a “professional” now. That said, I don’t think I’d like a job where I didn’t get a chance to exercise my mind and creativity.

One summer I lived in the city and all the noise was deafening. I much prefer the suburbs or the country.

Have a great Fourth of July

You really should be a music reviewer!

Ugh, garbage collector anywhere would be bad. Makes me gag just to think about it.

Music reviewer… that would be an awesome job for you!

My dad used to tell me that garbage men make $5 an hour & all you can eat…

Goodness…no matter what job you may dream of, anything has to be better than what you’ve already done!

Writing would be an awesome profession….just wish I had more time to do it.

Gargage collection in the deep south? That must’ve been bad….things ripen pretty fast down here in all this heat. ICK!

Bad jobs……HMM. Never had a really bad job. but when I was the Liaison Officer for the locked Psyciatric Ward in the Army there were times when I was genuinely afraid to go to work. We had soe vilent people on the ward, and they were all trained to kill. And some of them had.

    Hey guy,

I don’t know how I got on your blogroll (other than you obviously put me there) but I certainly do appreciate it. I certainly do. Thanks! …and I’ll be back.

    Have a great Fourth!

This is the questionnaire they do at the end of In The Actors Studio, no? I agree with Lisa, you should be a music reviewer.

I always love hearing peoples answers to these questions and you don’t disappoint. I could totally see you writing zombie books. I hope you feel better soon!
